Halloween is a wonderful time of year. You get to dress up, decorate and spend time with family, friends and neighbors. Maybe you’re going to a Halloween party this year and need to take along some Halloween finger food. Or you want to leave extra treats for the kiddie’s visiting your home. This recipe is more of a method than an actual recipe but you still need to know how to make it!

There are a lot of restaurant recipes on the internet and copying brand name foods is popular too. This Halloween finger food tastes like a payday candy bar and is simple to make. Okay here is the recipe.

Candy Corn Halloween Finger Food

1 cup candy corn

1 cup peanuts, salted or unsalted (regular not dry roasted)

Mix candy corn and peanuts together and place into a bowl.

To make this Halloween treat extra spooky make enough to place in a spooky serving bowl such as a plastic brain or pumpkin. If you’re trying to go for a more fall look place in a beautiful red or orange glass serving bowl.

You can also give out this snack mix as treats. Just place the candy corn mix in cellophane bags and close with a twist tie. Get creative and attach scary plastic toys to the bags through your tie. You could use Halloween themed spider web bags with a plastic spider. A good website to get plastic toys is OrientalTrading.com. They have a wide selection of novelty toys so you could get your spiders at a bargain price.

I first had this finger food at a church Halloween party. Another guest remarked to me how wonderful this snack was and that it tasted like a Payday. I tried it because I love that particular candy bar. Sure enough it tasted just like a Payday.

Now you have your own secret recipe for one of America’s favorite candy bars.

You don’t want to only bring candy corn snack mix to your party. Well you can but I suggest you bring a drink as well. A great idea would be to bring along some Ghoulish punch. You can use any punch recipe you like or even just buy some pre-made punch.

Pour your punch into your spooky punch bowl, a plastic pumpkin. Arrange gummy worms around the rim of the plastic pumpkin.
