Halloween Party Foods: Witch Head Cupcakes and Ice Cream

Spooky and Yummy

Each year at Halloween time there are tons of party ideas that pop into mind. From witches to goblins and ghouls, Halloween time is meant to be spooky and fun for the entire family. Whether you are making desert for a Halloween party at home or the office, or even if the Halloween party is planned for a child’s classroom, these Halloween Party Foods are sure to spook their audience.

What you Will Need for Both:

Chocolate Flavored Ice Cream Cones with Pointed Bottoms

Red Stringy Licorice

Red Hot Candies or other Small Round Candies

Candy Corn

Graham Crackers

Items Needed For Witch Head Cupcakes:

Chocolate Donut Oh’s (centers)

Vanilla Frosting

Green Food Coloring

Items Needed For Witch Head Ice Creams:

Mint Flavored Ice Cream or Vanilla Ice Cream colored Green with food coloring

To Make Witch Head Cupcakes:

Step 1: Break Graham Crackers in Half crosswise to create triangles

Step 2: Mix a few drops of green food coloring into vanilla frosting until desired color is achieved

Step 3: Frost all of the donut holes with green frosting all the way around

Step 4: Place donut hole on top of cut graham cracker in the center (frosting should allow the donut to stick to the cracker) to create the witch’s head

Step 5: Top the donut hole with a chocolate flavored ice cream cone to create the witch’s hat

Step 6: Cut licorice into 2 inch pieces to create the witch’s hair and attach next to the cone on either side flowing down the donut hole.

Step 7: Use small round candies to create the witch’s eyes and add a candy corn to the center of the donut hole to create the witch’s nose

To Make Witch Head Ice Cream Treats:

Step 1: Break Graham Crackers in Half crosswise to create triangles

Step 2: Place 1 round scoop of ice cream onto graham cracker center (if using mint ice cream) (if using vanilla ice cream then you must first color the ice cream green with food coloring) this will create the witch’s head

Step 3: Create witch hat by topping the ice cream with chocolate covered ice cream cone

Step 4: Cut licorice into 2 inch pieces and create witch hair by adding licorice next to the ice cream cones. (hair should stick to ice cream and flow around the sides of the scoop)

Step 5: Create witch face with small round candies as eyes and candy corn in the center as a nose.

Step 6: Allow witch heads to freeze for at least 4 hours before serving at a Halloween party
