Kid Friendly Halloween Events in Houston, Texas

In many communities around the country, Halloween is a time for lots of fun events. However, many of these Halloween events are designed to be quite scary, and are therefore not appropriate for small children. Finding Halloween events geared towards younger children can be a little tricky, but most communities do have some. If you are looking for a Halloween event or activity for younger children in the Houston area, this guide may be helpful to you.

Boo at the Zoo – The Houston Zoo sponsors a Halloween event each year, designed to be non scary, and entirely family friendly. This event typically takes place during the last two weekends in October, and features Halloween treats, decorations, and other family friendly activities. Boo on the Bayou – This kid friendly Halloween event is held at the Downtown Aquarium in Houston. Visit the Downtown Aquarium on weekends in October for Halloween themed fun, treats, and exhibits. Haunted Holes – The annual Haunted Holes Halloween event at the Putt-Putt Funhouse is a child friendly, non frightening activity for the whole family. The Haunted Holes event features Halloween decorations, trick-or-treating, actors, and interactive props. Take a tour through several themed zones such as the graveyard, pumpkin patch, bat cave, and haunted castle. The Putt-Putt Funhouse is located at 806 East Nasa Parkway in Webster, Texas. McDonald’s Halloween Mansion at the Children’s Museum of Houston – A Halloween event sponsored by the Children’s Museum of Houston, the Mcdonald’s Halloween Museum is a non scary event designed for young children and families. Ghostly Gardens – Moody Gardens puts on a child friendly Halloween event called Ghostly Gardens. This event includes costume contests and trick-or-treating. Pumpkin Patch at St. Luke’s Methodist Church – The church sets up a large area in front of the facility decorated with tons of pumpkins and other Halloween decorations.
