Haunted Houses & Corn Mazes to Get You in the Halloween Spirit
Halloween is quickly approaching and there is no better way to get in the spirit of the holiday than to visit a haunted house or corn maze. We’ve compiled some of the best Halloween attractions from around the country. I hope you aren’t too frightened to enjoy them!
Octagon House – Fond du Lac, Wisconsin This house was built in 1856 and is so haunted it has been featured on both Ripley’s Believe It or Not and the History Channel. They have special Halloween events, so plan your trip to Wisconsin now!
Darkside – Wading River, New York This is the number one Long Island haunted house for a reason. It ranks high on decorations, scare factor, & fun. It is not recommended for young children.
Necropolis – Columbia, Missouri Necropolis it not terrifying, but it is a great place to visit that will still make you scream and maybe even giggle. As a bonus you get to visit Freak Show in 3-D after going through the house which is also entertaining. Take a group for more fun!
Lemp Mansion – St Louis, Missouri Visit on Monday nights for a tour from Betsy, she claims to be clairvoyant and talk to spirits. You can also sleep in the Bed & Breakfast and attend the dinner theater for a full Lemp experience.
Drury Mansion – Cleveland, Ohio This Tudor mansion is the best haunted house to throw a party in. It is privately owned, but has a rich history & is available for private events. It sat empty for years, during which time even the guards were afraid of it!
Hidden Trails Corn Maze – West Salem, Wisconsin This family farm entered the corn maze business in 2016. Each year they have a different design, so visiting could become a great family tradition.
Bergmanns – Haysville, Kansas For some extra entertainment while stuck in the maze, Bergmanns has added trivia & riddles along the way. You can even win prizes! The maze is open during the day or night, but for spooky fun you better go at night.
Bilge Rat Maze- Fremont, California This maze is one of six scary attractions at Pirates of Emerson. They have been featured on the travel channel as one of America’s scariest attractions. They also have a second frightening location in Santa Cruz.
Stocker Farms – Snohomish County, Washington The maze at Stocker Farms will keep you busy for awhile. It takes up to 1 ½ hours to complete, but don’t use all of your energy yet! Once darkness hits, head out to the Field of Screams where you never know what awaits.
House of Horrors & Haunted Catacombs – Buffalo, New York Now, what if you are really brave and want to visit a haunted house that IS a maze. Better book your ticket to Buffalo to check out the Haunted Catacombs. The two story mansion has been around over 16 years and gets scarier each year. There are different routes throughout the house so don’t get lost!
