With Halloween just around the corner there’s so many things to prepare for such as; decorating for the upcoming change in season, preparing fun treats and activities for a Halloween party, picking out the kids’ costumes, getting the pumpkins ready for harvest, carving the pumpkins and so much more! Lets face it, Halloween is such an exciting time of year, but yet very time consuming as well. Don’t stress, things can get done in a timely manner, just take it one step at a time. Here is a few tips to help you get your house ready for the Halloween season ahead:

Carving jack-o-lanterns: What better way to show your Halloween spirit than to have pumpkins on your porch, this is a classic tradition most Halloweeners do every year! Not to mention how fun is it to carve the pumpkin yourself and enjoy the fruits of your loin. Carving pumpkins is a great activity for the whole family to enjoy! Plus you can clean out the seeds and enjoy some delicious pumpkin seeds after all your hard work is complete.

Hay bails, corn stalks and scarecrows: This is a simple way to decorate for the fall season inching closer. I myself anticipate Halloween because it is my favorite holiday. Every year at the beginning of September I’m just dying to get out my Halloween decorations, however, I have to refrain myself. So the beginning of September when the farmers are harvesting corn, I grab a few corn stalks, hay bails and get out my lovely scarecrows and make myself a wonderful fall display! It’s very simple to do. In just a few weeks it will be time to add some pumpkins to your lovely fall display.

Spider webs and black lights: Wrap black light bulbs around your porch or shrubs, add some spider webs and maybe some fake plastic spiders you can purchase almost anywhere and you’ve got a simple Halloween display!

Tombstones and ghosts: These make a fun and spooky display for the yard, throw in a fog machine and people won’t know what to think! Adding some fabric ghosts in the display makes it even yet more frightening. These ghosts are simple to make, however you can also purchase them at a store. Tie these ghosts to your trees and you’ve got quiet a Halloween display to be proud of!
