Halloween is Creeping Up, Check Out These “spooktacular” Events to Put Your Haunt On

There is something about getting your spook on that brings out the kid in everyone. Dressing up is only part of the attraction, having somewhere to go show off your costume makes the night. So if you are too old for trick or treating check out some of the hottest places to go this year.

Galveston, Texas is boasting “The World’s Largest Halloween Party”, as the city hosts the 2016 Lone Star Rally. As the event opens on October 27 more than 500,000 bikers are expected to ride to what has become the largest biker rally in Texas. More than 400 vendors will be in attendance to greet the spookiest riders in Texas along with great food through November 1.

If you thought New Orleans is only for Mardi Gras, think again. The city will host the 11th annual Voodoo Fest beginning Friday, October 30 through November 1. Expect the Krewe of Boo parade to haunt the streets of New Orleans in true Mardi Gras style, tossing bones and voodoo dolls as viewers scream, “Throw me something, Monster” Get your boo on and enjoy Eminem and Kiss concerts and scrumptious food in historic New Orleans.

Each September Knott’s Berry Farm turns into Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Vista, California. The transformation runs from September through the end of October. The “old west” town offers scary theme rides, creepy creatures that haunt the park along with shows to send chills up your spine. Check out the “Carnevil” where the living dead roam free and provide eerie entertainment to make your hair stand on end.

The ads say, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas”, but “Sin City” is promising a “sinfully wicked Halloween”. Take part in eerie events and haunted attractions and a Halloween parade. One of the town’s most famous places to be seen in costume is the Fetish & Fantasy Halloween Ball, or you may choose to join Haunted Vegas Tours to hunt for the ghosts of the rich and famous.

Savannah, Georgia could be your “spooktown” USA in 2016. According to locals, cemeteries lie beneath some areas of historic downtown. American Ghost Tours will explore some of Savannah’s most haunted locations. Moon River Brewing Company serves dinner and is touted as giving ghost seekers a real thrill. Savannah’s reputation of the paranormal has accumulated exciting ghost stories and tales of unusual experiences, being one of America’s oldest cities.
