Halloween is a great time of year to grab a book and read to a child. There are many good children’s books that are new and from times past that make the Holiday more enjoyable. Here is a list of ten great children’s books for Halloween.

It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown by Charles Schultz is a classic Halloween book with our friends from the peanuts gang. As you read this book you go trick-or-treating with the peanuts gang and see what they get for trick-or treat. Poor Charlie Brown is not happy as usual. The illustrations in the book are colorful and classic. This book with get you in the Halloween mood. I remember long ago when I was a child this was the story that put me in the Halloween spirit.

Another wonderful classic Halloween adventure book is Garfield’s Halloween Adventure by Jim Davis. In this book Garfield and Odie find the perfect Halloween costumes which happen to be pirate costumes. They go out on a wild adventure to get candy. They end up getting scared almost to death. Garfield’s Halloween Adventure is a great Halloween book for people of any age. This is my children’s favorite Halloween book. We sat together many nights reading about Garfield and Odie on there pirate adventure.

Gus Was A Friendly Ghost by Jane Thaye is a book about a nice ghost named Gus. Gus the ghost lives in a museum and has a mouse for company. This makes a good Halloween book that makes ghosts seem less scary for children. This is another one of my children’s favorite Halloween books. I

The Pumpkin Smasher by Benarde is a book about a peaceful town that is nice and friendly but every Halloween the town’s pumpkins get smashed. Find out who smashes the pumpkins and how the town stops the pumpkin smashings. This book is entertaining and funny.

The Pumpkins Circle: The Story Of A Garden by Shmuel Thaler is a good learning book about how a pumpkin grows in a garden. The book takes you through a pumpkins life from a seed to a Jack-o-lantern. Many nice pictures are in this book making the book even more interesting.
