Atlanta, GA with its beautiful sunshine filled summer weather is the perfect location to visit on vacation. The city is host to events of all types every weekend and there is always something culturally exciting going on for visitors and residents alike. Reference this run down of summer festivals for some of the most popular weekend events.

Artlantis Art’s and Music Festival

Head on down to the Druid Hills Baptist Church to enjoy this day long music festival with great indie artists like Abby Go Go, El Fossil, and Mermaids. In between shows visitors can stroll through a crafts market, artist market and community area.

Sci Fi Summer Con Atlanta

Atlanta Sci Fi fans are sure to flock to this annual convention which features a weekend of shopping, panels, discussions, artwork, celebrity appearances, parties and networking. Celebrity guests scheduled this year include Christina Barber, Ben Boardman, Robin Spriggs, Emilie Bush, and many more authors, actors, stuntman, animators and other artists.

Asian Cultural Experience

The 17th annual Asian Cultural Experience is an Atlanta Festival not to be missed. The weekend presentation schedule is packed with events of all types. From a Korean Marching Band to a Chinese Fan Dance & Exercise Demonstration with all type dances, music and martial arts presentations in between. Also featured is a large exhibit hall with demonstrations, presentations, arts, crafts, shopping and food.

Atlanta Underground Film Festival

Celebrating Independent Film makers in Atlanta, the Festival League will be showcasing independent films at multiple locations over a three day period. Attendees can also enjoy free parties and an all day music festival. Most screenings are only $5-$8 for entrance.

First film begins 7PM on Wednesday and the last show begins at 10:30PM on Sunday

8th Annual Summer Shade Festival

Thousands of attendees flock to this summer extravaganza of entertainment in the beautiful shaded Grant Park. Enjoy the great summer Atlanta heat with a 5K Run/Walk, artist market, a children’s fun center, live entertainment and the popular Corks and Forks Event.
