Halloween Events for 2016 in Grand Rapids MI

Here in Grand Rapids MI there are many great ways to have fun and get scared this Halloween. You will find many activities for adults, teens and young children. Here are some fun activities to check out this year.

For those who enjoy a big scare you will want to check out the Haunt. The Haunt has become one of the hottest haunted attractions in West Michigan. It has large indoor and outdoor attractions. You can be spooked by dozens of scary designed sets and rooms. Outside you can get lost in the Dark Maze: Get Lost in the Fear. This year 2016 it has gotten larger and more frightening. There is also a new spooky attraction; Claustrophobia. This attraction isn’t recommended for children younger than 10 years old.

The Haunt is opened from 6:30 – 9:30 pm on Sundays, 6:30 – 11:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays; and 6:30 – 9:30 pm on various weekdays. You can call 616-791-9818 or go online for the complete schedule www.the-haunt.com. The cost for the Haunt is $14 -$30. It is located at 207 Waldorf Ave NW Walker.

You can get lost and scared in the Forest Of Fear! Here you can walk though five hair rising frightening acres of woods and swamp. Watch out for the resident ghosts, ghouls and other terrifying creatures wondering around! This even is sponsored by the Kentwood Jaycees.

The Forest of Fear is open Monday thru Thursday dusk until 10:30pm and Fridays from dusk until 11:30 pm. Sundays they are open from dusk until 10 pm. You can call 616-281-4305 or 616-634-8012 or go online www.forestoffear.com for the complete schedule. You might want to also call to make sure it is open if the weather is bad. You can find the Forest Of Fear at 8758 Patterson Ave Se Caledonia MI. Cost is $13 for adults and $8 for children younger than 10.

You can visit the John Ball Park Zoo for their Zoo Goes Boo. You can trick or treat along the kooky trail. This is a very mild event so it should be great for young children. You can go in costume if you want to.

Zoo Goes Boo’s cost is $3.50 for adults and $3 for children. Children 2 and younger are free. For more information and their schedule you can call the zoo at 616-336-4300 or visit their website at www.johnballzoosociety.org.

Check out the Civic Theater’s production of Captain Louie. This play is about Louie, the “New-Kid in the Neighborhood” who feels lonely and friendless. Playing in his room his favorite model plane Red suggests that they take a trip back to his old neighborhood. Through Louis imagination they travel back on Halloween to find the old neighborhood dark and empty. A gang of creatures chase Louie and takes him to their hideout. Before things gets to frightening Louie sees that the creatures are just his old friends dressed up for Halloween and then they all go Trick or treating. This is a great story of new and old friendships

Ticket prices are $14/$12/$8 for adults and $12/$10/$8 for children and students.

The dates of the show are Friday October 23rd 2016 – 7:30 pm, Saturday October 24th 2016 – 2:00 pm, Sunday October 25th 2016 – 2:00 pm, Thursday October 29th 2016 – 7:30 pm, Friday October 30th 2, 009 – 7:30 pm, Saturday October 31st 2016 – 2:00 pm, Sunday November 1st 2016 – 2:00 pm.
