Simple and Fun DIY Party Favors for Halloween

Are you hosting a Halloween party this year for your child’s friends or her class? If you are, then you will need Halloween party favors for her guests to take with them at the end of the party. My daughter and I enjoyed making DIY Halloween party favors for her class party last year and plan to do so again this year. With a little bit of imagination and a few hours of time, we created unique party favors for Halloween that her friends enjoyed receiving as much as we enjoyed creating them. Below are some ideas for creating your own Halloween party favors.

For young children, Ghost Lollipops are probably the easiest DIY Halloween party favor that you can create. Supplies needed include lollipops, white tissues (or tissue paper squares), black magic marker and twist ties. Put the white tissue over the top of the lollipop and use the twist tie to secure the tissue to the stick under the lollipop to form a “ghost”. Using the black magic marker, let your child put eyes (and a smile if they want one) on the ghost. These party favors are simple which makes them perfect for younger children who want to be involved in making the Halloween party favors. (TIP: use orange and black ribbon instead of the twist tie to secure the tissue to dress up your ghost)

Why wait for Christmas to have fun surprise crackers when you can make your very own Halloween Surprise Crackers. Start saving your toilet paper rolls now for these great Halloween party favors. Using orange or Halloween themed wrapper paper, wrap the toilet paper rolls, twist one end of the paper at the bottom o the roll and secure with ribbon. From the open end, fill the tube with Halloween candy and small party favors (Oriental Trading is great for buying small Halloween treats at low prices), twist the paper to close the tube and secure with ribbon. Let your children decorate the paper with Halloween stickers or magic markers. These are great for school parties.

Make and give out Mini Pumpkin cakes at your Halloween party. You can purchase a mini pumpkin cake mold from Oriental Trading for only $4.99 each (they make six cakes at one time). After baking and decorating these cute pumpkin cakes, put them in a Halloween cupcake box ($3.99 per dozen) and seal them up for a delicious Halloween party favor.

If you are short on time or not very crafty, simply purchase fun party favor bags or holders and fill them with your favorite Halloween candy. Children love receiving these unique party favor holders.
